Elope in Venice: A Sunrise Session With Aimee & Evan

Aimee and Evan came to Venice from Los Angeles with one goal: to create something intimate, stress-free, and meaningful, just the two of them, no pressure, no timeline.

They had already gotten legally married in the U.S., but they wanted to mark the moment with something unforgettable. And honestly, if you’re looking to elope in Venice, there are few places more atmospheric, romantic, and peaceful.especially at sunrise.

Why They Chose to Elope in Venice

To elope in Venice gave them the chance to slow down and be fully present.
No big production. No guests. Just a quiet city, soft morning light, and time to breathe and reconnect.

They wanted photos that felt honest and reflective of who they are, not staged, not stiff. That’s exactly the kind of experience I love creating with my couples: intimate, personal, and rooted in the beauty of the moment.

Wandering Through Venice Before the City Wakes

We started just after sunrise, wandering through the empty streets and along silent canals.
Venice has a completely different energy in the early morning, the kind of stillness that makes you feel like the whole city is yours.

Aimee had asked me for help finding a bouquet, and I connected her with Jenn, owner of Mexichic, a local floral artist I often collaborate with. The result was a perfect match for her style.

Why Eloping in Venice Gives You the Freedom to Adapt

One of the best things about choosing to elope in Venice is how flexible your day can be.

Originally, Aimee and Evan planned to have a symbolic ceremony with a celebrant at sunrise. Everything was in place, the bouquet, the location, the quiet city atmosphere. But the weather forecast looked terrible.

Instead of stressing over it, they made a calm decision: skip the ceremony and simply enjoy the moment, whatever the sky had in store.

And that’s the beauty of eloping, you’re not tied to a timeline, venue, or guest list. You can change plans, move things around, and still have a meaningful experience. In the end, it didn’t rain. But because they kept things simple, the morning felt light, connected, and beautifully relaxed.

Closing the Morning with a Private Gondola Ride Through Venice

After exploring the empty streets and soft corners of the city, we wrapped up the morning with one of the most iconic and peaceful ways to experience Venice: a private gondola ride.

There were no crowds, no distractions. Just the sound of the water, the creak of the boat, and two people fully present in the moment.

It was the perfect way to end a quiet celebration: simple, emotional, and unforgettable.
