Winter Dolomites couple photoshoots have a magic all their own. The snow, the silence, the frozen lakes… Everything slows down, and the scenery becomes almost dreamlike. That’s exactly the kind of atmosphere Ovidiu wanted when he planned a surprise proposal for his partner, Daniela.
They traveled from abroad to visit the Dolomites in winter and booked a photoshoot at Lake Braies, one of the most iconic (and scenic) places in the region. What Daniela didn’t know was that this snowy couple session was actually the setup for a life-changing question.
As we walked on the frozen lake surrounded by fresh snow and gentle morning light, everything felt still. Ovidiu dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him. The moment was intimate and emotional and absolutely unforgettable.
A Dolomites proposal in winter might be not the first idea (anyone fearing the cold?), but the reward is no crowds, quiet scenery, and landscapes that look straight out of a fairytale. If you’re planning an engagement in the Dolomites or just want snowy portraits in one of the most breathtaking places in Italy, winter sessions like this one are perfect for couples who love snow and quietness.
Remember: before planning your visit at the lake, make sure to check current conditions and accessibility updates on the official Lake Braies website.
If you’re dreaming of your own proposal photography in the Dolomites, this gallery is a beautiful example of how special and personal the moment can be, even in the cold.
