Whitney and Massimiliano arrived at San Marco before the city woke up. Early morning in late spring, golden light on the Basilica, the square still quiet. She wore a dress that felt made for this place: elegant and romantic without trying, exactly right for the amazing beauty of the city. We moved through the square and into the streets around it, unhurried. That’s the version of Venice most people never see but I swear, it’s the best one.
