A Lake Braies pre-wedding photoshoot in June looks like this: still water, the peaks reflected on the surface, and a couple dressed for their wedding day in one of the most quietly beautiful places in Italy.
Lorraine and Jonathan came from Singapore with a clear idea: they wanted the lake, the mountains, and photos that felt cinematic without being staged. Pre-wedding sessions are a tradition for many Asian couples, a way to have a dedicated photography day before the wedding itself, without the logistics and the guests and the timeline pressure. Just the two of them, a location they chose carefully, and time to be in it.
We started early in the morning on the shore, then took one of the wooden boats out onto the lake. On the water, with the Dolomites surrounding you on all sides, everything slows down. Mid-June at Lake Braies still has that freshness: the crowds haven’t fully arrived yet, the light is long, and the mornings are cool enough to make a suit and a dress feel comfortable.
If you’re planning a pre-wedding photoshoot in Italy and want a location that delivers without any effort, Lake Braies is hard to argue with.
